Rockne´s coach record by sections of all the country´s football teams shows that Notre Dame under Rockne did the most traveling. His squad roamed from coast to coast. As far north as "big league" football is played, and as far south as Atlanta. In the thirteen years Notre Dame´s record may be summed up as follows:

Won Lost Tied
Against East 25 4 2
Against West 66 6 3
Against South 9 1 0
Against Coast 5 1 0
Totals 105 12 5

In the thirteen years as head coach at Notre Dame (1918-1930) he sent out his Notre Dame team 122 times. They won 105, lost 12 and tied 5. In percentage it shows .897. No coach, past or present has ever matched that record in major competition.

Rockne teams had five undefeated seasons (1919, 1920, 1924, 1920 and 1930).

Rockne teams won three championships (1020, 1929 and 1930) and a reasonable claim to a fourth (1924).

Six of his teams (1918, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1916 and 1927) lost only one game.

The 1928 season was by Rockne standards, sheer disaster, with four defeats.

Rockne developed fifteen All-American players in those thirteen years of single platoon football. This is the second best percentage ever.
