A nice story about George Gipp
A nice story about George Gipp was when he one day was off in a corner by himself, practicing some drop-kicks. A freshman on his first practicing day, walked over to Gipp and watched him fooling with the ball.

"Hello," Gipp said to the boy. "You going out for practice?". The boy´s chest swelled with pride. "I should say so. Football´s my game and my act is drop-kicking. I see that you´re trying it out. Let me show you how to do it. You haven´t the right slant of drop-kicking. I´ve made a study of it and I can give you a few pointers. The fans back home say I´m In a class by myself".

"All right", Gipp said, "I´ll be only too glad to learn some new things about it". He tossed the ball to the boy,who got off some nice kicks from varying distances and angles. Intently Gipp watched each kick and seemed thoroughly interested.

"That´s fine", Gipp congratulated him. "You certainly can kick". The boy flushed with pride. "Well I´ve got to go over to freshman practice now. Come out early tomorrow and I´ll give you some more pointers". As the boy walked away, Gipp picked up the football and began to toss it around. Over his shoulder he said to the boy: "See you tomorrow".

"Say, do you know who that was you were talking to?", called an onlooker who had been watching the two from the sidelines. "No who?" asked the freshman. And by the tone of his voice, he didn´t sound much interested in finding out.

"That was George Gipp", the onlooker replied. The freshman´s recent glow changed to a sickly pallor. "George Gipp?", he whispered. Scarlet dyed his face. "George Gipp, and I was teaching him how to drop-kick".
